Our Mission
The Remarkable Woman Ministry is structured to move women forward to the destiny that God has called them to. The activities in this program are geared toward empowering and enriching the lives of women. It is intended to strategically move women forward from a place of stagnation and uncertainty to a place of passion, power and confidence.
Our History
The ministry was birthed at the New Psalmist Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland where Bishop Walter S. Thomas is the pastor. Rev. Valerie S. Pearson developed and implemented this ministry. It has been a blessing to women since its inception in 2007.
Our Objectives
- To help the women of God realize that God has given them purpose
- To help the women of God awaken to the inner beauty that God has placed within them
- To help the women of God to search for the authentic women God created them to be
- To encourage the women of God to move toward the dreams that God has placed within them and to the dreams they were meant to fulfill
- To become Remarkable Women through the power of the Holy Spirit.
The Butterfly
 |
The transformation of a caterpillar into a butterfly is symbolic of the journey of a remarkable woman. This journey is life changing. Even though it is one of great sacrifice and struggle the end result is breath-taking. Just as the butterfly struggles inside the cocoon to become, you too will struggle on this journey. But after the struggle, a beautiful one of a kind “remarkable woman” emerges ready to soar.
After your remarkable journey, every time you see a butterfly you will smile at one of God's great wonders. After your journey, every time you look in the mirror you will smile at a newly transformed you! There is a blessing in store for you. |

My Transformation
Have you ever had a desire for a makeover? I enjoy the makeover reality shows with the dull, boring and unexciting before photo and then the all “glammed-up” photo after the new make-up, hair style and shopping trip. A new face, hair and dress and then life is all better. But oh, if life were really that simple! If you want the results of the after photo but you want more than a new face, hair and dress, this remarkable woman journey is just for you. |
I remember the woman in my before shot. She was stuck in a place filled with painful disappointments that were never reconciled, low self-esteem and general malaise about life. When I took the remarkable woman journey, I had to struggle inside my cocoon to face the woman in the before shoot and then use the Word of God to help me realize who I really was. Through the Word of God, I realized that I am fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), that he has endowed me with splendor (Isaiah 55:5) and that I was made a little lower than the angels (Psalm 8:5). I allowed Him to heal my past hurts and then to take to heart the scripture, I am the head and not the tail (Deuteronomy 28:13). God has been the catalyst for my transformation and from the cocoon came a renewed, better, brighter, stronger, and encouraged person, ready to fly. And yes, there was fresh make-up, hair and new dress too! But the outer makeover was minuscule when compared to the great thing that God did to the inner me. |
